Check out the cool sidecar.  One of my 80s favorites from his long catalog of songs:

I noticed Tom Petty at the Concert for New York after 9/11. "Won't Back Down" was the perfect song for the day.

He's not dead yet....

Conflicting reports at the moment, first I read he passed now I'm reading he's still clinging on life support. Boy wouldn't that be a theme for a new song if he is still kicking and recovers.

Apparently the above is true, but unfortunate... I read he has a DNR order.
DNR is Do Not Resuscitate..

I was jamming with a friend just yesterday. I sang "American Girl' then he brought up "You Don't Know How It Feels". Had no idea Tom was sick. RIP Tom, the songs will live on.

Report is he had a heart attack and has been taken off life support according to an article of couple hours ago.  Rolling Stone falsely reported his demise, which his daughter ripped into them for doing so.
They are facing a lawsuit for the false reporting of campus rapes that rocked the mation not long ago.  The number of rapes on college campuses is obscenely high and needs dealt with appropriately but victims need protected.

Notice how the Youtube occupant of the car in the opening of the video has dirt on the sunglasses, unexpected for an enclosed vehicle, maybe expected for MC or sidecar rider without goggles or faceshield.

Longtime Heartbreaker guitarist Mike Campbell.  There are all kinds of silly continuity-style issues with that video but it still makes me smile.

goddammitsomuch  :-\ :-\ :-\ :'(

I saw him in '95 on the Wildflowers tour and just a few months back in May on the 40th anniversary tour.
I have basically everything he recorded. I hope there's just a little more left.

My sister and friends were lucky enough to see him on October 22 at the Hollywood Bowl.  They said he was fantastic.
