What level am I looking for when doing the clear tube float height check on a CB750 K2.

I could have sworn I had this info on a little diagram I drew, but I can't find it in my note folder.

2-3 mm below the seam - where the bowl meets the body.

I'm closer to 10mm.  I'm doing it on the bike for carb angle accuracy and it only takes 15 seconds to push them into new carb boot runbers

That's low and may lead to fuel starvation. Looks like you're on the right track tho.

The easiest way from here is to remove carbs, set the floats to 26mm using a business card home made tool, this should get you real close to the mark. Fine tune from there with carbs on the bike.

You are doing it the right way. Just bring it up to the the bottom of the lip and you are right where you should be. Doing it on the bike is the real world condition.

If there is anything good about it I'm getting paid to sit my truck and look at my phone while I wait to tip off.  On a bad (or good) day it takes upto 1.5 hours.
