How are these front turn signals mounted?
« on: October 06, 2017, 06:52:35 AM »
I love the look of the way the front turn signals are mounted on this 750: https://www.throttleroll.com/larss-1975-honda-cb750/ If you look, there doesn't seem to be brackets on the forks to hold the turn signals, it's almost like they're coming out of the bottom part of the headlight. Any ideas on how to achieve this?

They drilled the headlight ear to mount them.

Thats what I thought at first, but these look to be mounted lower than the ears...

If you zoom in on picture #3 it looks to me like they drilled at the very bottom of the ear right before the fork tube. I don't see any other way it could be attached since there are clearly no brackets.

**edit** You're right, the top picture clearly shows the signal is much lower than the bracket.

Clicked over to the story and looked at other pictures. Either he drilled into the shell, or there is a bracket that runs down from where the ear attaches to the headlight. It would be small and if it were painted black basically invisible in photos.

I think you're right. The first picture makes it look like there's no bracket and he drilled into the headlight shell but it's hard to tell. I actually sent the guy a message asking if he'd care to share but he hasn't responded yet

I had something like this on my Triumph, You can probably bend a simple bracket out of metal stock and tap the lower triple and bolt it on

The 77/78 K and I think maybe the F, have 2 large holes on the lower tree that you can mount stuff into . They may be coming off that.

The builder got back to me! Very nice guy, said he mounted them to the lower triple and sent along these pics. For those who might be curious to know:
