CB750 Engine Number

So I have picked up a SOHC engine this afternoon and after hunting online i'm unsure of which year the motor is, the Engine number is CB750E 2612097

 Is it black or silver ? If its black it could be an F2 or 1977 F model   http://www.hondachopper.com/engine/engine_timeline/timeline.html

Yeah its black, i thought it was a 77 F series just wasnt 100% sure, now if it is a 77 F will rocker boxes and camshafts from other models fit it?

 Yes I believe so but the camshaft on the F bikes were a little more aggressive then the earlier K bikes. Another issue to look out for is the valve guide wear on these years 77-78 of F engines with their different angled valves that has been well documented around here.
