Scott S.  Don't sell yourself short.  You have an awesome build.  Clean, understated, but very well executed.  Looks awesome (love the upsweep in the pipes). It sucks to be up against the beautiful CR, but you are representing 550's well!

A few more pics for your perusal.
I've tried to get the bike as close as possible to the original Daytona winning bike from 1970. It's been a long haul, around 10 years, to find all the necessary parts or have them made. The story of the build with lots of pictures can be found in the link above. The latest addition has been the completion and fitting of the magnesium fork bottom cases (sliders).
I hope you like it

Yea, I agree. Scott's is a winner but #$%* it just can't be in Eric's class.
Think it's getting time this was cycled monthly either by build type or model?

H2Eric's CR750 is, indeed, a formidable candidate.  Scott's bike is a favorite of mine, too (after all, I nominated it).  They are just two different bikes sharing the same SOHC4 DNA.

I'm not sure the difference between the bikes warrants separating BOTM by build type or model.  There are many months where members have difficulty nominating 2 bikes of different models and completely different types (resto-mod, restoration, cafe, tracker, brat, other).  This might be a more viable option if there were so many candidates each month that we could vote for different classes.

Anyway, if you feel so inclined, petition for a rule change.

Absolutely love Scotts 550, one of my favorites.  Erics CR is something extremely special and one of those bikes that makes BOTM not fare for others.

Well done to both builders this month!

i don't know if any bike can be unfair to be in BOTM.  if it's that good that it's beyond competition then it surely deserve to be a winner, no?
is it unfair to others? well maybe in that particular month it does seem like that but there will be other months, and sometimes the field of nominees is pretty narrow.

There are many levels of builders, many models of SOHC bikes, and many styles of builds.  Most months there are not enough entries to field multiple categories.  A few builds are just on another orbit of skill and resources, like Eric's CR.

There are many levels of builders, many models of SOHC bikes, and many styles of builds.  Most months there are not enough entries to field multiple categories.  A few builds are just on another orbit of skill and resources, like Eric's CR.

I agree Don and on those grounds, I'm thinking that idea I had would struggle to work.

Congratulations to Eric as winner of the November 2017 Bike of the Month.  Kudos also to Scott S on a very deserving bike.

OK Don, I've had a re think and come up with an idea that might work If people put their trust in us to sort things out.
I'll start a new thread out, outlining my Idea and see where it goes from there.

Scott, don't feel put down by this months result, your bike was well and I mean well and truly worthy of being in the competition, it was just sad that you had to come up against the bike of the century in Eric's bike and had Don not nominated it, it was to be my choice as well.

Congratulations to both of you.

Wow, I'm glad that neither of my BOTM bikes came up against Eric's bike! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
