Please finish my 77 CB400f project (FREE - Montreal area)
« on: October 15, 2017, 08:08:50 AM »
Not sure the best place to post this, but I have two project 1977 CB400f I would like to give away to a deserving forum member.

Photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1T3uj1siRkkR74t23

Some specifics:
  • Top end was in good shape, but it was leaking oil.  Redid all seals
  • Frame powder coated
  • Tank coated, repainted, new decals.  New side panels
  • Cases, covers polished
  • New Hagon shocks
  • New rims and tires.  I laced them myself with a lot of help from this forum
  • New DYNO S ignition and coils
  • New OEM Honda Japan chain
  • New clutch installed
  • Two sets of carbs professionally redone by Hondaman
  • Stainless engine bolts
  • New brake lines
  • Six (!) boxes of labelled spares
  • I'm sure a lot more that I am not thinking about now...

It runs and has good compression. And there is a second, non-running, complete project bike for additional spares.  That engine turns, but I haven't tried running it.

I could easily part it out but instead want someone (ideally a forum member) to complete it and get it running.  The only reason it is going is that I have a project car coming in the garage and there is no space for both.

I'm in the Montreal area (Hudson).  Not interested in selling parts.  This is a all or nothing "deal".

Wow great offer ....but you are better off selling it ,then giving it away FREE if I read your post correctly .
Someone might just tell you sure I'll finish it but just end up parting it on Kijiji.
If you put a price on it,it will be more of an incentive that some deserving member WILL complete it...JMHO

Heck I even thought about a 5 hour road trip....but would never do what you itended,...still have to get my 78 550 running again (:
