And a corollary.
When all else fails try a bigger hammer.

Over here we call hammers "American screwdrivers". I have no idae why ;)

If it don't work Hit it, if it still don't work hit it harder, if by this time it still don't work you knackered it so can buy a new one.

In Uk hammers of different sizes go through
Toffee
Manchester scredriver
Doxford adjuster(look up Doxford marine diesel engine)

Kin Big
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
