Shouldn't be a problem. A little tarnish is no big deal, but corrosion would be.Got some ammonia in the house? Give 'em a little bath, they'll shine right up.
Toothpaste maybe?
I always use cleaning vinegar, doesn't make my eyes water as much as ammonia
I knew that would work. If you ever use "Brasso" brass polish you'll notice that it's mostly ammonia mixed with a mild abrasive.

Turned out great using cloudy ammonia
