Rocker Arm Ratios
« on: October 15, 2017, 05:15:15 PM »
So I was thinking about what could be an issue with my bike and I remember that I have seen 1.7 and I think 1.8 stamped on my rocket arms and maybe I may have mixed them up due to the fact I have a bunch of engine parts lying around from multiple engines and so everyone knows its a 77 f2 super sport engine

thank you in advance to any knowledge

In theory they are all the same ratio. Someone once posted there was a racer that made a measuring fixture and went to the Honda shops picking out the ones with the tolerance stack that made the most lift.

Wear on rocker arms+ shafts + cam holders reduce the ratio right?
I have measured the lift in mm and compared with lobe. There is some play in the mechanism to tighten away when timing the cam with 0 lash.
I got more duration on valves with fresher cam holders and shafts.
