Oil out exhaust, but compression test is good
« on: October 18, 2017, 08:41:58 PM »
I rebuilt my cv carburetor for my 82 cb650c. I had purchased it to replace the one on the bike before because it wouldn’t adjust when manometered and that’s why I ended up with this one. The bike would run before I put this newer carb on. It never burnt any oil, as I rebuilt the top end not 100 miles ago.
This replacement carb leaked horribly. I rebuilt it and tried to fire up the bike and it spit oil out the exhaust. Figuring that the seals had blown, I compression tested it again. It is still sitting at 150 +/-10.

What did I do? If I blew it up how is there still compression?
