42a from a 80-81 750f carbs on a 77 750a
« on: September 23, 2017, 10:42:23 PM »
Im curious if a set of 42A round top carbs from what I believe is an 1980-81 will work on my 750a.

My current carbs are kinda ruined. Came that way. Brackets are bent between 1 and 2, as well as carb and throttle rods.

I found a set of free carbs, just need a rebuild and a diaphragm. But before I order a rebuild kit, I'd like to know if theyd match up. They fit on my current boots to the engine, but not to the air box

Can be done and the CV carbs work nicely on an Automatic.

Ok. Then I shall order a rebuild kit with diaphragms.

Any idea on what style throttle cables I need? The 1977 cables dont exactly match up.

I'd guess the cables the carbs were born with, maybe the throttle tube too.
