Why would you want to exchange the original for one of these? Just for the colour? Doesn't need to be alloy for that.

My original is bending, and after 40 years, the look is getting old.
I like the look of this, and am planning a custom build this winter.
And changing to a part that weighs less than half of the original is not a bad idea on a  high performance bike loaded up with lightweight components.
The downside of what I am building is it has a heavy frame,  so I am trying to keep that down.

Plus its as cheap as shipping a used sidestand..

I'd run that. Rather have it un-anodized and polished though.

Yamiya has new replica sidestand. I have one, look as my old K6 stand.
I ordered an old one on ebay that was bent. Need a straight one as my K6 I never managed to bend it. Maybe people with long forks bent them?

I like the idea that it may weigh only 40 percent as much as the steel one.
I am using a custom frame that is heavy,  but will try to trim weight in other areas.
If it holds up. I may strip the anodizing off.

The good part is, it only cost as much as shipping any other one would cost..

I posted the info I had, just stumbled onto it on ebay.
Another thing about this if you like the clean look, you can maybe run the spring behind it.

That story came back up after an incedent in Fernie BC this fall.
Ammonia leak at a Civic Arena, killed three men trying to deal with the leak...terrible..

Ok , got it today, I think I ordered Oct 30.
It's not the nicest piece but well worth the price.  I wont cry about strippingvthe color, it has a few nicks, and could be polished better.
Not sure that angle matches up for stock stand, not a problem for me as I still have to weld the pivot to my frame.
The good part, the stand , less nutcase bolt, and spring... 255 grams.

For my  old clunky bikes I prefer a stronger steel side stand, especially if it has my time and effort in it. The other thing is you should know the grade of aluminum being used as I have had good looking shiny Asian metal fail on levers far too easily on dirt bike mishaps. Maybe skip the chocolate bars and beer for a few weeks and you'll be better off LOL that's what I try to do. :)
