Old 4 into 1 ID? (CB750)
« on: October 22, 2017, 05:34:48 pm »
New here and already picked up some valuable pointers! Was wondering what 4 to 1 pipe I picked up for the bike about 20 years ago when I pieced it together. It was old and used then. Thinking perhaps someone might know. Its very light and one piece. The bike runs like a bandit (faster than I would have thought an old 750 aught to be at least) even though Ive never bothered to jet it or even check them-kinda funny since Im a mechanic of 39 years, lol! Aint broke dont fix it.  TIA Bob

It looks a lot like a Jardine, except  the part coming out of the head.
And that for some reason reminds me a bit of the way Butte Organ pipes were bent.

Thanks! Maybe a different angle...

Welcome to SOHC4 Bob and just wanted to compliment you on your bike. Very tidy! I had a parts bike a couple of years ago that had a pipe like that only it was chrome. The collector was like yours under the brake pedal. We used to have a category here on the forum for exhaust ID but I couldn't find it. The search function doesn't work anymore but maybe someone else here can tell us where it is. I thought under FAQ's but didn't see it.

Thanks 754, Thanks mrbreeze!
Until last year the bike stayed outside year round for 18 years. I would use silicone tire gel and keep it coated in the stuff all winter! Now finally I have a garage.Bob
