Sam, I did my homework on doing a temporary conversion on my gas 567 CI dragster to lakester configuration for Maxton. A set of 12 bolt gears with legal tires and wheels with more cooling seemed cost prohibitive. A couple to a few thousand $$. I thought my powerglide would survive with it's 4% slip at 182 in the quarter mile. I have a tight converter laying around. Who knows, I might have held the record when it closed.
Don, when you look at it in depth, and this is only IMHO, Mile racing is only playing at LSR but it is the only way of doing it to keep the sport alive.
True outright LSR breaking under FIM and FIA rules is only for the very rich and if it wasn't for the various capacity classes it wouldn't be available to the likes of you and me, but saying that, I think the only way forward is to introduce a further break down of the class structure like has been done under SCTA and ECTA rules but without going to the silly extremes that they have taken them to. Before much longer, there will be classes depending on what color underpants you are wearing hahaha.
Your thoughts on this my friend.
Sam.
