Plunger Frame Value
« on: October 22, 2017, 10:29:24 AM »
Ok. Here is my dilemma I have came across a vintage plunger chopper frame with a girder front end. It has a cb750 cradle. Looks like comstar wheels, hub rear brake and a juice front brake. The guy wants it gone today and is offering it to me for 450$. Should i jump on it? Any input will be help full.

Thanks for the great site.

$450 seems a bit much for a rolling chassis.

Would he take $300?

I have know idea. He was asking 900$ a couple of weeks ago. He just contacted me saying he would take $450. I guess all i can do is make a offer that i am comfortable with. I would of thought that a roller would be worth more than that. I will load a pic.

Generally you have to reregister them anyway, unless it has transfer able registration.
I just bought one with no numbers, will have to go thru the process.
The frame us a GME or Machine Shop frame.
If the the chrome on the springs us good.. more money.

He said there is a assembled tag on the steering head. I will go look it over. Looks like a good investment to me. Is this a Amen "savior" frame?

You didn’t say it had a seat and tank!

That certainly makes it more attractive as a package.

Seat and tank, but you have to like the tank it may be molded in..but it looks very good.
Also has bars, light and brake is plumbed and Maybe has the master cylinder.
Tag may be a big help if it stays in that states  I mentioned  the frame maker above.
FWIW two members on here paid 600 or more for plunger rollers  in thr last 6 months.

I have researched the frame and Frank you are spot on. It is a General Motorcycle Eng. frame Hollywood CA. As for the front Girder i have no idea. I need to go look at this thing in person. Heck, I am already thinking of colors.

It's a good deal , if you want a chopper. Plunger frame is way easier on your back  I have done 800 miles in a day on an Amen plunger.
Btw for z short time I had 75 Kawi 900 in one of those frames with stock extended fork ..long but fun on the highway.

I would leave the retro colors if it became mine. 450 or  a tad less seems reasonable as long as there is transferable paper work..Larry
