Topic: bs34 mikuni's now from a kz1100 spectre L0L!

 I drug home an 82 kz1000 j parts bike. it has mikuni bs34 carbs on it. Since I plan to part it out I wondered what's the deal on these carbs? Similar at all to rs34"s?

BS are CV, RS race slide type, not that similar

 That was my first impression, too bad. I'm parting this beast out. A local kawi drag racer offered to buy most of the engine. His buddy needs the rear fender. The rear disc is frozen but the fronts work. I'm not usually into parting out due to the space requirements but this was my first KZ. I have an unusable torque converter and $15 worth of gas in it. Hopefully the kerker will clean up.

Is  that a J-MODEL motor with CV'S....... Frank I got two K -1000 motors sitting in my garage = complete on stands , clean as a pin w/new gaskets. I gave  away two motors [ J-MODELS ] from LTD bikes that had less than 5,000 miles on one and 1,200 miles on the other one to a OHIO racer running in PRO-MOD for free who was breaking cases and trans weekly. Still have one LTD KZ 1982 1000 COMPLETE......

 Yes, it's a J model. I thought I'd mention it here before getting hasty.  He showed me his brothers dragbike with a j model crank, trans and head. It's tempting for a gearhead to build something but I'm trying to finance a car chassis.
 If there's something anyone needs shoot me a pm. The speedo is gone, mileage is unknown.

FRANK: The S/G at IDBA Champion for many years had NEW shift forks for KZ's I will look up his name and send you a e-mail. I was never at his home but was told he had a KZ900 like brand new sitting in his front room. My local FREDDIE has a building full of KZ'S and a NEW ZIR in the OEM box. But I got the STAR RACING 4-1 brand new in the box bought many years ago in my family room = RARE.....

 It turns out to be an 1100 spectre. Original owner passed away and the emblems were robbed off of it. lol.

I think they have a bevel on the corners of the head, not rounded.
And some nice 43 43mm forks, Floating rotors, and a alloyvswingarm for dual shocks.
Maybe show me a pic of the  swingarm.

I just saw the  pics inbtge other thread, yours does not have the goodies that the later ones have, same clutch cover though.

 I passed the bike along to a new owner with the carbs, the center carbs have a fuel inlet between them, it probably could be overcome to work on my drag bike engine but  I had the chance to sell the whole bike. Two of us got a deal.

 I picked up a kz 1000 that has the 26mm mikuni's. They need a little work, too bad the keyhole kiehens I got for $20 won't work.
