1973 CB500 fork boot options?
« on: November 01, 2017, 03:40:51 PM »
Hey everyone, Its time for me to replace my old split fork boots on my 73 CB500 Four and I was wondering what kind of options I have? Im not a big fan of the OEM fork boot look, i like the way the short dust seals look. Are there any models that will fit my bike?

Thats exactly what i'm looking for, the tubes are decent for being 40 years old lol. i shined them up and removed what gunk and minor rust buildup that i could.

Ok.   Do you plan to keep the stock fork ears?

No I have a box of OEM parts I was going to toss on eBay. The fork ears are the chrome headlight brackets right?

Yes.  If yours are in good shape I may be interested in buying them [if they are similar to '74 550?]

They’re in good shape in my opinion, they have a little rust on the inside but nothing too serious, I’ll polish them up today and take a couple pictures for you. If I’m correct there aren’t many differences between the 500 and 550 when it comes to parts. I believe the 550 has the same 35mm fork tubes so it should fit fine!

Sounds good.  PM me if it's easy to text or email the pics...
