Does ANYONE have a photo of Dnor72's CB350Four??  If so, please post it and send a copy to Stev-o (for the BOTM calendar he's putting together)!

Eric,

Did the original Factory CRs cross over the brakes/shifter like yours??  That look like it took some extra work!

I can't vouch for all the factory CR750's, but that ridden by Dick Mann certainly had the cross-over gear change. Riders like Dick Mann were more used to Triumph and BSA bikes that had the gear change on the right-hand side, so Honda made it easier for them by installing the cross-over mechanism. Accidently stomping on the brake lever instead of the gear lever is not good.

Pretty damn impressive, Eric.  Now maybe you can get your neighbor Guy Martin to ride it in a vintage TT!

Here's a new shot from Thursday...got it up to 84mph and drove about 88 miles through LA.

It is an honor just to be part of this group. Some incredible builds here!

How eagle-eyed of you. The process of the magnesium fork lowers has been ongoing for years, see build thread, but finally completed at the end of September. As someone has said before are these projects ever really finished? The answer is probably not, as there always seems to be something extra to do. The devil is in the detail as they say, but that makes all the difference in the end. The next addition is likely to be a magnesium transmission cover and magneto cover, which will no doubt turn out to be another long drawn out affair as several people are involved from pattern making, casting, to final machining. The patterns have already been done or so I'm told.

Agreed.  These bikes are hardly ever "finished."  They just continue to evolve.
I thought the gas cap and the fork lowers were unobtainium parts.  And the list continues to grow.

This is my daily rider...

It is an assortment of parts that I collected over the years (probably close to 10 years of stuff picked up here and there)  I bought the motor, frame and a few boxes of stuff at an estate sale many years ago because it was a K0. It had been sitting since the 70's and had made the rounds through various family members.  When I finally got around to restoring it, I found that the frame had been cut and had a few tabs on it that were added.  In the boxes, I found an original manual, with catalogs, notes and receipts.  All from the early 70's.  The receipts that caught my attention were from R.C. Engineering when they were in Glendale California.  Polished and micro-balanced crank, forged Venolia pistons, R.C. rods etc.  When I tore into the motor I was elated to see the markings of the R.C. parts.  The pistons were brand new in the box from the 70's.   The original owner had passed before he finished the build.  I was determined to finish it for him.  I've always loved the CR race bike so I decided I'b build my version of a naked CR.   Cylinders were bored to 838.  New springs, valve guides for the head. New cam chain & guide.  New bearings, seals etc.  I did the motor work with the exception of the cylinder boring  and Serti valve job.  The front brake is off a GT750 Waterbuffalo - had it for at least a decade - been on 2 or 3 of my bikes over the years.  Made the tail section out of a KZ650 tail - lots of trimming and fiberglass.  Would have been faster to make my own from scratch.  I moved the footpegs back about 4 inches to fit me a little better.  Oil tank is a copy of the CR and was made by a member here OldScrambler.   Never knew where the aluminum tank actually came from but it is similar in shape to the CR tanks.  Rims are vintage Borranni - several hours of sanding to remove scratches.   Seat was made with an old jacket of mine.   Swing arm and pipe are from Chris Redpath of MotoGP werks.   I can't count how many compliments the swing arm draws.  The bike went together very easily and is a joy to ride.  I am still suprised how much more punch this thing packs vs the stocker.  I ride the bike everyday that it doesn't rain or isn't just miserable out.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Well done Eric, a truly awesome bike! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Pretty damn impressive, Eric.  Now maybe you can get your neighbor Guy Martin to ride it in a vintage TT!

That would be great if I could.

Congrats on the win Eric but I wouldn't let that nutter or his TV cameras anywhere near the bike if it were mine.
The bike speaks for itself mate, no more needed.
And congrats to all, all the bikes deserved to be in it.
