Topic: 1971 Honda 350

A neighbor has this 350 given to him with no title. Build date of 2/71. She is locked up with 12,000 miles on the clock. No mufflers, flat front tire, center stand bent, torn seat, etc. Notice the right side engine case where the oil filter sits behind the 3 screw cover has a chunk out of the top. You can see it on that right side engine pic. Looks like that cover and the case are broke and may not seal by just replacing the filter cover. Would have to take that cover off to check it out. Just about all there as the missing front blinkers are in a box. To me it's a parts bike. He said I can have it for $100 to part it out. Side covers are good with tabs in place. Tank rusty but not to bad. Thoughts and needs???

 Looks like it started life as a cl350 scrambler. Shame its all broke up. Gotta be a hundred bucks + a little profit there in parts if a person wanted to hassle with it. Long cold winter ahead to sell some goodies on E-bay for you.

Personally, I have enough projects to keep me busy for the next few winters, so I wouldnt do it.
But if you are looking for a side job, there might be a little money to be made.

Hey  Rob.... if this bike was in the U.K, it would def get restored.

But here in the US, these bikes are a "dime a dozen" and after restoring it, you would have more in it than it was worth.

If there is no sentimental attachment, it just doesnt make sense, especially since it's only a 350 [bigger the better mentality over here, ya know mate?!]

Uh, I'll give you more than $100 for the orange bits if you want to make your money back and bit extra real quick...
I might even need a few other items too, I'd have to take a closer look at my CL350. It's in line waiting for resto.

I really don't need another project. I have that 69 CB750 on the lift and a K1 waiting in the wings. I hate to sit here with a bunch of parts that are not needed.

Anything retro over here is fetching big money.... even old 1970’s commuter bikes. Its madness. I paid £3.5k for my usa imported project, what would it be worth in the us?

I have not committed to buy it yet. He was thinking of putting it on CL to see if he could get someone to bite for like $300. I will keep tabs with him. Not listed on CL as of yet. He is just moving in next door and is pretty busy with the move.

Hey Rob...depending on what part of U.S but that is about a $3000 bike in good running cond with a title.  The aftermarket exhaust is hurting it.

Thanks stev-o, thats more than I expected... The aftermarket pipe is how it came to me. These jardine’s aren’t popular in the uk, but its starting to grow on me a little. I’m not a massive fan of the standard 4 pipe system to be honest, it would cost between £850 to £1200 to fit one over here! Im not keen enough to justify that amount. I will buy a 4 into 1 pipe which is what i did back in the 80’s when i last owned one of these sohc fours.... I think I’d better start a separate restoration thread as i dont want to hijack this one 😄

 Yes he is based in Appleton and flush with cash after his recent online and in person auction of unparted bikes we posted on here about. That brought in a little over $123,000.00 for him before commissions when I totaled it up one morning over coffee. Nice chunk of change !

I looked at the link for that sale. He had a couple bikes I was interested in, but ultimately didn't do anything as storage would have been an issue for me.

I just got a really nice front fender from that seller for $40.
