What are we comparing mate? Your 15,000 murders per year to our 240? Using your population figures, the USA has 13.4 times the population of Australia, so if I multiply 240 by 13.4, that'd take our annual murder rate up to 3240 if we had the same population, around a quarter of the US' annual murder rate?

Please don't consider this as USA bashing, it's not, I'm only writing this in response to your post, and you're right, we have the best border that you could ask for, it's just a pity that our government seems to think that importing 300,000 immigrants annually (mostly from China and the Middle East) is a good idea. We've all got our problems.......
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Just throwing this out there,

Population of Australia is 24 million people. The population of the USA is 324 million. Australia has a great border wall,(ocean). If you do the comparison by capita, we are not any worse then anyone else. But if we keep letting the Liberals have their way, we will soon be a third world country at best. Look at the crime in this country where gun laws are the strictest,(Chicago & Washington D.C), and they have the most crime. Liberalism is the problem, not law abiding people in this country. Why doesn't our elected leader s go after the criminals with guns instead of the honest person who just wants to protect themselves and their loved ones?

As Terry points out, that is simply not true. Australia's rate of gun murders per 100,000 people is .1; the United States is 3 -- thirty times higher. This is a statistic compiled by the UN's office on drugs and crime, using real data.

And a very ugly argument against "liberals." instead of thinking that there are two sides in the US with different ideological backgrounds for how to handle this country's problems, it's now become "the other side is out to destroy America." What a shame, and what total bollocks. Chicago and DC are outliers with much different problems than the rest of the country -- to think that strict gun laws there are causing more violence is reductionist and simply wrong. If "liberalism" is the problem, how does that square with a current republican president and a republican-led legislature for the past several years?

It’s the Sean Hannity rhetoric that fox media is passing off as “journalism”

I’m waiting for the associated press to disavow hannity and his colleagues.
before they carry em outta town on a rail

There have been several reports that show, for example, that Fox viewers are objectively less informed on things such as current events and global news. The trouble is that Fox viewers don't see these reports, don't care, or dismiss them as "fake" and return to the echo chamber.

Hannity is a joke. On the recent election he spent something like 5 seconds of a one-hour show discussing the election, simply dismissing the right's losses.

The point about gun laws is completely missed in that statement. It isn't the strict gun laws that are "causing" the problem, it takes some pretty twisted logic to come up with that one. It is the FACT that stricter gun laws, as they are conceived/written/ and enforced, simply do little to curb the criminals. So the "just gotta do something" crowd can feel better they go after the law abiding gun owners and the NRA. How is it that in ALL of the mass shootings NONE of the shooters were NRA members?

They say that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Make punishment fit the crime and ENFORCE the penalties. The problem lies in the fact that people are not held responsible for their actions, a death penalty conviction guaranties at least 20 more years of life at tax payer's expense. Maybe we should start looking under a different rock for the solution.

That is incredibly naive. Hillary Clinton is hated by both sides pretty #$%*ing equally at this point. In fact, her own probably despise her the most at this point. To counter your argument, wouldn’t you say that the liberals blame Fox News and Donald Trump for everything?

Depends if you’re talking about moderate left-of-center liberals.  Or 19 year old evergreen college student “liberals”.

Don't use up all of your rhetoric at once gentlemen.
I wouldn't be surprised if The Next American Mass Shooting were being planned at this very moment.
