One of my friends in high school had an International Scout, an 8-track tape player, and two tapes: Led Zeppelin II and Santana. Going down the road, the tape player at full volume barely overcame the noise, but it was cool at the time.
I was able to record the first play of a vinyl Led Zep II on my dad's Roberts 1/4" reel-to-reel tape deck. I think I still have the tape stashed somewhere with my collection of 8mm films, from when I thought I would be the next George Lucas.
