The coolest part is they are opening for CCR and you can see the band peeking out from back stage with big grins on their faces. They were also fans. Forgive me if I posted this before.

I heard this today and it reminded me of a guitar I played once. I'm not good or even a player anymore but one day my guitar teacher put a 62 re-issue Jazzmaster made in the 80's in Japan in my hands. Suddenly, I could play all of my barre chords and I found a spot on the neck where I didn't hit any clinkers. I didn't feel like I could pay the $800 they wanted for it and let it get away. I had just bought a sandcast and a different guitar and was a little worried about being freshly retired.

There are sounds of a drag race at both the beginning and end of this song, and if you listen carefully, you can hear the announcer mention the Howard Cams Special. My next door neighbor in the early '70s, Ron R, had a 5x7 framed photo on his mantel of a white '60s Dodge at the strip with "Howard Cams Special" painted on the side, and I always wondered if there was any connection? ???

That's one of those tunes that made me want to get a Hammond B3 or at least a keyboard organ. Some high school buddies had a pretty good band and they toted a B3 and a big old rotating speaker around. That likely the same car, there was also a Howard Cams Rattler that was a fuel dragster.

This big old organ, around 1970.

I always come back to the Kinks.  Their catalog is so rich, there's a lot of wit and great riffs.   I'm also a big Nick Lowe fan for the same reasons.
