You are welcome, that was a great show, and the sound isn't too horrible.  It never fails to amaze me what shows up on u tube.

I stumbled upon this forgotten tune today, while looking for a different Lovin' Spoonful tune. There was some really good music in the '60s!

The Joe Cocker version:

This is the tune I was looking for, after hearing a slow version on a lame Kevin Costner movie. I knew I had heard it before, but couldn't quite remember where or when...

I had another musical deja vu experience yesterday. While munching on KFC chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy, I heard this tune, and I knew I knew it from somewhere, some-when, but couldn't place it. Earlier today, while coming home from the post office, it popped back into my head, and I almost remembered the lyrics, but got distracted. This evening it popped back into my head again, and I remembered enough of the lyrics to do a search.
The original version was by The Foundation in 1967. I think I like Alison's version better. :)

The Lovin' Spoonful was a good time unpretentious band, with tight songwriting and great melodies.  A fine band to listen to.

I love Sneaky Pete's pedal steel on this. Post Gram Parsons, so it's a bit more upbeat and rockin, but still got the FBB vibe.  Chris Hillman should be better appreciated but oh well, just listen and enjoy.

RIP JD Souther  co-writer of Victim of Love....

Interesting history on this song. Don Felder sang the lead on the first take then was taken out to dinner while the band re-recorded it with Henley singing.  Beginning of the end for Felder....

Saw him join the Eagles at the Forum a few months ago. Seems like he was "the most interesting man in the world". Dated Joni Mitchell, Linda Rondstadt, Stevie Nicks, etc.

Sounds like he was a stud, but it was the '70's...ha!   Bet that was a great show.  The Eagles are currently doing a residency in Vegas at the Sphere.

I've always enjoyed needling latter day Fleetwood Mac fans, saying the real Fleetwood Mac didn't have any chicks in it.  Back in the good old days there were times when I would indulge in the devil's lettuce and watch Midnight Special.  I remember seeing this when it first aired while so engaged.  I remember being blown away by the end with Stevie's vocal.  No wonder she eventually blew out her voice.

And this is a fine raw performance.  Pretty good rock n roll.  As always, when in doubt, turn it up.

My favorite Fleetwood Mac tune is still Landslide. It also made me a Stevie Nicks fan.
