Just out of curiosity, what is the advantage of converting from two shocks to one (mono) shock configuration?

IF you are into that kinda chopper then I guess the looks are all that matters.

That is more art then anything to do with a motorcycle though.

I get that it's a style choice, but putting all that work into body work, paint and finish, and then NOT using fenders seems like a bad idea to me. Unless of course you never plan to ride the bike, then I suppose it doesn't really matter. By all means put that highly polished oil tank right behind the front tire. Why not?

To me though the appeal of minimalist design is more about making something functional with nothing extra, not about making it so minimalist that you can't actually ride it except in parade mode.

Edited to add: Don't mean to be overly critical. It's a really nice build in general. Whoever did it diod a great job, but that oil tank is an odd touch that only draws attention to the lack of practicality of a fenderless bike. I can see they worked in minimalist hidden lights that might make it marginally street legal, but it wouldn't pass inspection in Vermont without fenders.

Just out of curiosity, what is the advantage of converting from two shocks to one (mono) shock configuration?

You get to spend your money on ONE REALLY NICE SHOCK instead of two “okay” shocks.
Leverage to the rear wheel is slightly improved too.  Until you’ve ridden a properly setup monoshock bike it don’t totally click.

The bike would almost be a rider if you untucked the front forks from their position on the trees.

BikeEXIF has been covering some really nice builds lately. @randomorbit, I'm sure when they put it on a track they have some ad-ons... fenders or brace but for these pictures they like her naked.

I don't LOVE this bike but I appreciate the builders trying something different, even the white frame is off-putting but what the hell. Have you guys seen this Goldwing? http://www.bikeexif.com/custom-gold-wing

I fell in love once I saw that head on shot of the fairing...jeez...I don't even care for these bikes.
