Topic: Good bike to leave at vacation house?

My dad inherited his brother's house recently and we are turning it into a vacation place.  It's over in Florida, sorta near the beach.  He's gonna leave a car there for the use of whoever is staying at the house at the time.

I'm thinking a bike would be awesome to have there too, but what would be a good one to leave?  Nothing too crazy and something that would be nearly maintenance free.  Put gas an oil in it and go.  Something that can sit for long periods with no problems.

That basically rules out our older bikes, but what would be a good, fun little runabout for occasional use?

The Fiancee has a CL360.  Maybe when she outgrows it, we'll send it down there.  The brakes won't seize, so that's good, but even if drained, is it OK to let the carbs set?

I was going to say some type of small dual-sport like a KLR 250 or a DRZ400.  That way you could hit the sand if you wanted.  They seem to be pretty stone-axe reliable.  Also, there's only one carb to worry about cleaning if it does get gummed up from sitting.

Something with a self generating ignition system (AC CDI) and direct lights so if the battery is flat it will still run (battery only used for indicators and brake lights)
