The Brembo 12mm is a premium component and looks retro. Relatively budget friendly as well.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

Buy once, cry once. You didn't say what your budget was but that is a very high quality master. No other suggestions from me. When it's my life on the line I don't pinch pennies.

I hear you, from what I can research from this Forum, it seems like a 12mm bore M/C is a noticeable improvement in braking performance.  I don't see one that resembles the stock M/C though unless you know which one your making reference too ?

Not sure offhand what bore the original was. Smaller bore gives more pressure (stronger braking) but less fluid volume available - you might have the lever against the grip before getting maximum braking. Braided steel lines will help the latter, they don't swell as much under pressure as the rubber OEM lines. Bigger bore gives less pressure but more volume, usually required if you have a dual disc front brake.

The Brembo is a square cap reservoir. No one is really making a performance master with a round screw top. The square cap looks more period than a remote res off a more modern bike.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

Shaun at Slingshot sells Nissin retro MC that are available in a wide range of piston sizes, with a round screw on top, and very nice looking...also pretty pricey.
If it works good, it looks good...

DSS has repro MCs in stock sizes, maybe do a search for Master cylinder without specifying the bike will return a few choices.  The repro front caliper was pretty inexpensive if I recall correctly. A search using Google returns multiple parts using the string=
"brake master cylinder" site:davidsilverspares.com
Problem is you have to know the caliper size to find an appropriate replacement. Too much leg work or requiring an excellent memory for recalling arcane info like the piston size for multiple bike's brake system.

I believe the caliper piston bore diameter on my CB 750 is 38mm ?  I'm just going off recommendations from other Forum members on using a smaller bore M/C.

My CB550K1 has a 14mm master and a 38mm caliper. I'm not super enthused about the braking power.

Not sure if that helps you, but they're sitting in front of me right now.

Whatever u r stock Size go down 2-3 mm in size for improved braking.
If 14 is stock 12 would be an improvement.
Ebay has manny  different sizes!
