Hippo Hands from Vetter! Maybe find some on fleaBay? They also came in heated versions for bikes with bigger alternators.

Ive used both Hipoo hands (cheap) and Barkbusters (no mods required for them to fit to CB750 bars). Both work for wind/cold but for anything below 35F I use heated gloves of riding for more than 1hr. I have tried goretex snowmobile gloves, lots of moto winter gloves and even the best ones give me 45-60 mins in freezing cold before hands get cold heated grips alleviate cold a little but under 35F heated gloves are better.

Andy, have you seen heated grips for the throttle side? I'm curious how the wires might be run... ???

"back in the day" (whenever that was ::)) I used Hippo Hands and a full fairing as heated grips hadn't quite been introduced.  Hippo Hands are convenient because they are easily removed and attached....Larry

Now THERE'S a timely idea! Good one!
(I use the bottles as targets, myself, but this is also good...). :D

I've had heated grips on my K1 for about 12 years.  On the throttle side you just have to leave a small gap between the grip and the switch housing and enough slack in the wire to allow for full throttle movement.

Great idea!

I've been wondering about trying these too, here in the UK they are known as "handlebar muffs", which might suggest something a bit different in the US. These type seem quite good, though I'm a bit concerned about the potential for clumsiness they could cause.

Mesh kevlar long sleeve shirt, don't want road rash all over your arms...
Wear a T shirt, soak it in cold water before suiting up.  Fill a large (2-3L) hydration bladder full of ice with some cold water.  Put it inside a mesh MC jacket.  Joe Rocket Phoenix or Ion model jackets are examples of the open mesh I am talking about.
The ice will melt and the evaporation will help cool you if you are not in stop and go traffic.  Then the ice pack will melt slowly enough to give you cooling to your core.  You need to use the bladder outside its typical pack.
When it melts stop at a convienence store for something to drink and refill your hydration bladder with ice before you get your drink.  When ready refill your cup with cold water and do the wet t-shirt thing again.

May want to pack a small kit to wash up a bit in the restroom when you arrive at your destination, along with clothes suitable for that location.  You can do your Clark Kent impression...

Or, as a friend in AZ would say,  I couldn't carry on the bike what we were bringing with us today, a carful of cold air.

You will adjust
David- back in the desert SW!

+1 I think I got the idea to use them from Gordon many moons ago 8)

Tim this is what motorbike couriers use in the UK all the time. Its where i got the idea from. I have a photobucket pic that I cant post of me using Hippo Hands in South Dakota in October just after a snow storm - temps -2C. Worked as advertised no issue getting in out.

I use Gerbing heated gloves. Keep in mind that my CB750K4 has Anders upgraded alternator allowing me to run heated gloves and heated jacket (Gerbing again). It really is night and day difference compared to using non-heated winter gloves.  For me, the alternator upgrade was totally worth it.
