woohoo...Picked up my 350f yester day!
« on: June 06, 2005, 08:00:28 AM »
Me and my dad drove over 1300 miles from Minnesota to Michigan to pick up my 350 four. I finally drove it for the first time this morning, I really like it!!! Its all original except a MAC 4-1 header that sounds fantastic. The bike really has sort of a power band where it really hits around 5krpms. Its in very good shape but Im am eventually guna paint the tank and side covers so does anyone know of where to get the original color from, any close matches anyway?
Thanks
-Jeremy-

You are very lucky to have such an understanding dad...

If I drove 1300 miles from here, I'd be in North Africa!

For your paint job, check out www.reproductiondecals.com

They have whatever decals you need, and have a recommended painter.  He's up here in Canada (should have kept driving) but it would be worth shipping your tank/sidecovers if you were so inclined.

Yea i would definetly use the decal kit but would prefer to have my friend paint it since he would do it for next to nothing. But I would need the paint code or a source that sells the matching paint.

Im in Mankato, yea i'll hafta pm ya sometime and we could possibly meet for a ride.

Paint codes?

Ha!  Right.  Do a search on lubritech...who did the paints for our old bikes in the early 70s.  There aren't any
steenking codes for the honda colors...that are current today, that is.

Basically, it's a candy paint...a sky-ish blue primer, and the overspray is a goldish orange to get the
green candy.

Best thing to do is hie yourself over to ebay, and look for dondirtbiker, who has figured out the color combos
from the house of color palate.  The paint kit will run you about 85. for the base, color coat and clear.

It's the best route to go right now.

BTDT, use the tshirt to clean the bike.
