Sorry for the late reply guys; I'm not very good at message boards.

I'm in Montreal, but I was born and raised in Moncton, NB.
I started riding fairly late in life, around 23, if my memory serves me right, and although I haven't owned a bike since selling that '77 in 2009, I've always kept my license.
I've now got my hands on a good '77 CB400F project. And by good project, I mean it's completely disassembled. I think I'm in for quite a ride... (pun intended!)
Anyway, thanks for being so kind and I'll try and be present as much as I can!
Small annectode:
I bought my first bike, the '71 CB350 for a song but it needed a complete overhaul. I was in my early '20s and had lots of time on my hands, so I took it completely apart, cleaned all the nuts and bolts and put it all back together. When my dad turned 50 a few years later, I decided to give it to him since he had had one in his youth. I then proceeded to completely take it apart, once again, clean all the nuts and bolts (once again...) and put it all back together. I think I liked getting my hands dirty as much as I liked riding.
Fast-forward to the next season and my first CB400F. It was a beauty. Around 12K or 15K miles on the odometer and it looked factory fresh. Needless to say, I didn't need to take that one apart. Didn't have to do anything to it, actually. But I needed to "fix" something, so the only thing I found to adjust was the shifter linkage position. I felt it was too close to my toes and was worried I was going to accidentally downshift. Anyway, I adjusted it and during my next ride, the bike kept popping out of 1st gear. I was worried because that bike had always run like a champ (got it up to 110mph!). Turns out that during my "fix," I had extended the linkage too far and when I pressed down on the shift lever, the linkage would butt up against the engine case and prevent 1st from fully engaging... Needless to say, I brought it back to normal and left it there...
This was the SOHC4 that started it all for me (trivia: that's my set of headers on Wikipedia's CB400F page). My girlfriend at the time called her rHonda the red Honda:
