Another Dilema for the new 350f
« on: December 02, 2017, 01:24:07 PM »
So I wanted to keep the header pipes since they will clean up good enough and thought just replace the rusted out mufflers with slipons.  But I am not sure these are the factory header pipes.  The pic shows existing pipe setup.  There is no makers mark on the system.

I found this MAC product but that is a lot of $$ for a couple mufflers close to the price of a mac 4 into 1.

Does anyone in the community know of a place where i can get slip ons with dual inlets for this setup?  I really dont want a 4 into one but that may be the only option.

Your thoughts please

I guess you do not want to consider the 4 into 4 repops that CSMNL and David Silver have/had?

Hi:

Yeah they got real nice stuff but I dont want to spend more on pipes than the bike cost me.  I have heard from more than a few folks that a 4 into 1 on the 350F sounds like crap so trying to avoid that.

I'm not sure about 4-2 slip-ons for 350Fs, but there are 4-2 complete systems out there.

As for 4-1 sounding bad, dunno about that (or as a reason to rule them out). The 400F was the first stock 4-1 system and it came right from the 350F. 400F systems aren't that expensive used, and they bolt on to the 350F (although you've got to use the 400F pegs -- and they are getting rarer and more expensive -- and levers or rear sets or another fix). I've had a stock 400F system on my 350F since 1997 and I sounds just fine -- better yet, it functions just fine too with only minor tuning to the carbs and using stock jets.

I've never been a fan of Mac systems, but there are other options out there. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Thanks for your response. After closer inspection of the header pipes the verdict is they would clean up to a fair appearance so Seems the best thing to do is replace whole system.

I would appreciate any recommendations and/or links to some solutions be they 4 into 1 or 4 into 2.

This works well.  I like how it sounds, too.  It comes with spring tool but I needed a stronger tool. No need to change jets. For more, Google Delkevic cb350f.

I just installed that system on my CB350F, not yet fired it up.

So, can't attest to the sound.

Yea the spring install was quite the task.

And the support bracket didn't line up very well either, but some playing got it.

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

Got another one.

My new 350F has the  Bacchus Olive paint,  However, there are spots on the side covers and a little on the tank. I tired Wolfgang Uber by hand on a small affected area and it did make a little difference.  It is like someone stood 2 feet away and took a few shots.

So before I use a more aggressive compound it seemed best to seek answers from our community.  So anyone ever see this?  Is it fading from sitting in the sun?  The only place that does not have this is the sides of the gas tank.

Thanks to everyone who commented.  You have convinced me to choose the Delkevic setup in stainless steel. Once this is installed the next thing is sending the carb bank out for rebuild/resync.  From the looks of it they have never had any work done on them.  My hands are too shaky (nerve damage from Army service) for me to do this myself.  No problem uninstall/reinstall its just working with small parts that become the issue.

They say no  rejetting needed but since the carbs are getting rebuilt should I have it jetted for this system anyway?
