Benefit Piggyback vs conventional shocks

Hi,

I planned to buy the simple Ikon or Hagon progressive shocks, but am offered new White Power piggyback shocks at half the original price. They're compression and rebound adjustable. Don't like the piggy back look on bikes of this era actually. But is it really that much of an advantage in practice? My bike will be for street usage.

Separation of gas charge from shock oil in a separate body....that's one advantage.

Another option is the Gazi shocks, I have a set of them on my CB550 project. Built to spec, 3 way adjustable, progressive springs. They comr in piggyback as well.

Had to google the White Power brand.  Sounded like another inappropriate use of English by chinese manufacturers  ::)

WP shocks is European, think German. At least being the stock brand for some motocross bikes for decades.

Originally Dutch, later sold to Germany, and now owned by KTM in Austria, who use the shocks in motocross and ofcourse their MotoGP machines.

This isn't my thread, and I certainly don't want to high jack it, but I do have a question regarding rear shocks myself. I ended up cutting the rear part of the frame and installed a rear hoop with no upward lip at the end, just straight. I was told that with stock height shocks the rear tire was going to bottom out on the seat pan, makes sense. Are any of the shocks that are listed here a good fit for what I might need? I'm unsure of how much higher I'll need to be for clearance purposes.
If I've learned anything about building a motorcycle, it's check and re-check your work before you put it all back together. Although you do gain more experience by doing it twice.
