Topic: having issues

all of a sudden i am having issues with my window size when reading the forum.i cant keep it full screen because i read it at work.prior to last friday i could read it at about 1/3 of a full window size.now i really have to stretch the window to be able to read the posts without moving the threads back and forth.any ideas?

          I wish I could be of help but, I'm just barely able to take care of myself, when it comes to PCs.

DD, when you resize the window, how do you go about it, do you use the buttons at the upper-right or do you just drag the borders? Oh, what browser do you use, I guess that would be a good question to ask.

try sizing the window how you like it and shutting down the program- then reopen the program and your window should be that size again.  most browsers remember the last size window and open up the next time the same way.  most likely the last window you had open was a pop-up and the browser thinks that is the prefered size.  hope this helps

in the view pull down menu find text size... adjust accordingly to suit your needs

heffay,text size is the same for all open windows,ill play with the window sizing and see if that helps,this is very perplexing.

zactly,previous to this anamoly,i could size the window any way i wanted and i didnt have to scroll at the bottom.

there is a limit to how small you can make the window and get the carriage return effect with no scroll bar at the bottom.see if making the window a little bigger gets rid of the scroll, because i checked and the preferences for IE do not turn this function on and off- it seems to be always on, but limited to a certain window size.

The usual reason for this is a graphic image that is to big for the screen.
For example if the advertising banner towards the top of the page has been set to display at a fixed number of pixels and not a % then when you size the window to a lower number of pixels than the graphic is set to display at you will get the scroll bar.
This is something that is written into the board software and there is nothing you can do about it.

If this has only started recently then possibly the board developers have updated the software recently.
This might not be the case here but its the usual one.

p.s. I know nothing about computers really. I asked my partner who is a programmer

yeah, for me it happens when the "The Single Overhead Cam 4 Forums" and the logo dont fit on the same line.  since that is a text object, then heffays original advice of making the text smaller is the only way to get the window to get smaller without horizontal scroll. who's the nerd now?
