Well, new to the forum anyway.  Began riding on the streets when I was 15 (no license) by sneaking my dad's 1977 CB550 out of the garage many moons ago (okay, 25 years ago).  Been riding bikes pretty much all my life.... Honda 50, Honda SL70, 1977 CB550, 1984 500 Interceptor, 1987 600 Hurricane, 1998 Yamaha R1, 2000 RC51 and 2006 Yamaha R6v (still own the last two).

Recently bought a 1976 Honda CB750K.  Pretty much all my riding consists of strafing mountain roads on purpose built sportbikes that are essentially built for one purpose -- i.e. going fast.   I have been looking to get a standard for the past several years mainly so I can ride two up without my girlfriend sitting what feels like a mile behind me on a perch.  I looked at modern standards, but as I get older, I have begun to appreciate the older things (vintage cars, vintage racing and vintage bikes).  Since I've had experience w/ the CB and loved it, I thought I would relive my youth and get another.

The bike I purchased is in relatively good shape but definitely needs some work, so that's why I am here.  I have spent hours trying to find good resource information on the internet and finally, I found this website.... MY HOLY GRAIL!!!  This place is awesome and I couldn't have asked for a better website.

I'm not sure exactly what I am going to do with the CB750.  The racer boy in me wants to turn it into a cafe racer (and Carpy's CB750cafe.com website hasn't helped), but my girlfriend has already kindly reminded me why I bought the bike... to ride slow and ride two up and if I start altering it, I'll have to get buy another bike for that purpose.... sounds like a good excuse to me!!!     But seriously, it will probably end up being a hybrid cafe that remains semi-comfortable and able to ride two up.  However, I definitely have to put some clubman bars on it, because I have NOT ridden a bike with my back straight up and down in 25 years!!!  I've de-evolved!

I'm sure the amount of knowledge contained here is immeasurable and I look forward to my time here!  Sorry for the book!

Thanks for the welcome everyone!  Yep, building a cafe is definitely what I 'WANT' to do, but I doubt I can go as rad/badass as some of the bikes I have seen on here... but then again, maybe if I take said girlfriend for a couple of rides and she isn't too pleased, then I won't have to worry about riding two-up.
