New Main Wire Harness
« on: June 04, 2005, 09:31:26 AM »
I have purchased a few odds and ends through www.partsnmore.com and now I see they are offering a MAIN WIRE HARNESS LOOM - CB750K (73-75) for $75.  My current harness looks as though it was used help tow a Ford F-250 out of a mud bog.

Has anyone purchased this item?  There are plenty of used harnesses out there for less, but you'd still need to check all connections and you never know what you'll find.

Hello Bobby,

I haven't purchased this particular harness as I have a '73 CB750K2 according to the serial number. (see signature) I did buy one from David Silvers Spares a few months back and have posted some photos on another post as to what it looks like. I can re-post the photos if you like. It has the round ignition switch connector. (your attached photo appears to have the square connector)

From DSS, the cost was 55 GBP, converted to U.S. about $100, to CAN about $124 plus shipping.

Also, a friend had restored a Norton Commando a few years back and had replaced the harness on that. His recommendation is to put a dab of "solder" at each connection as they are crimped and tend to work loose. Mind you, that is on a Brit Twin (more vibes) and not on a SOHC4..... ;D.

Hope this answers your question.
Cheers,
Lou
