Larger than 674?

Has anyone (other than Paul) built their 650's larger than the Dynoman 674 kits? Meaning installing larger sleeves plus the need to bore the upper engine case holes to suit.

If so I am curious if the cylinder base/top case was difficult to seal against oil leaks after?

I had an issue with a leak from the base gasket using the 674 kit....cause I’m a bonehead!!!! ;D ;D ;D

I think Paul ended up with 64.75mm, maybe 65. No matter what I won't risk reliability, so still measuring options at this point. I would really like to know the length of the 350/400F top end studs, or APE HD equivalents. I asked in the other section but no answer.

Boring for 62mm pistons must leave the bottom of the 650 sleeve taper wall thickness very thin, probably just 0.051"?

That's to thin for me....you can get cracking easy.

I agree Mike, but from my quick measuring those 62 mil pistons must leave the sleeve that thin. Do you know? Changing to 750 sleeves and 64mm pistons will leave about 0.076" which is still on the thin side. But with a short skirt may be manageable.

There are tons of 65mm bore 836 bikes out there, some of which have been running for decades without cracking the sleeves. ???
