Rubber Lever End ?
« on: December 06, 2017, 06:08:08 PM »
Can you re-use the rubber ends on your clutch or brake levers ?  I have different "New" M/C that I'm using on my K4 but doesn't have a rubber end on the brake lever.  I have other levers with these rubber ends but those lever won't work on my M/C.

Don't think the rubber will transfer.

However, If you find some Plastidip you can coat them anew.  Could do colors in addition to black, too.

You can actually buy these from Honda.

Sometimes you can get the old rubber cover off and reuse it but usually they harden with age.
Or you can use something like Plasti-dip to make your own.
Do you have a copy of the Honda Shop Manual or Parts List for your bike? Get one here:

i busted the very end of my brake lever from a drop.  pulled the rubber end off the broken part and jammed it on the end of what was left.

The Honda rubber  can be a biatch to put on the Honda levers and on some repops, impossible.

you might be able to work the tube of a can of WD40 under the edge of the rubber and squirt a little in and then work it lose.  You would have to clean off the WD40 before fitting it on a new ever so it isn't lose.  If the rubber is old it may just split going over the bulb end.
