65 degrees at least. We took the Fiat with top down off to Church this morning.
I took the 750 out this afternoon. Didn't even need any coffee when I got back.

I'm afraid our days are numbered here. We've slipped by to long :(
When we get smacked here y'all can post pictures of how warm it
is there so I know it nice somewhere :)

Have Dave, you can ride your bike to the ice fishing hole can't ya ;)

A local upholsterer did the seat, he does custom bike seats of all kinds.

Hey Ernie, that's on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd County Virginia. Rocky Knob is the mountain and this
over looks Rock Castle Gorge. Really not to far from you. When you get back on the bike I'll meet you on
the Parkway somewhere.

I thought that looked familiar.  Well, I went out to conquer the demon Saturday- the same route I went down on.  Use it or lose it... a lot of white knuckling.  I'm good for about 50-60 miles so far.
How far North are you?  I realized the other day I never go North on the Parkway.  EVERY time I've tried it, I get as far as Craggy Gardens and it's so foggy I can't see a thing.  Plus, I'm afraid of getting rear-ended.  Obviously you don't have that problem...

I'm just barely across the line as the crow flies. About an hour from the NC line on the Parkway.
I've never been out on it here when there was any traffic to speak of. More motorcycles than cars
in the summertime it seems like. I'm sure it would be different where you are with Ashville and Boone.

I could be wrong, but it seems like I read that the BRP is the most visited National Park in the country.   It really begs to be ridden at 55+ mph, but you're right- in the summer it's a Shriners parade.  Sad, really.  Plus Rangers have been watching with cameras now.  Speeding is a Federal thing, you know.

OK Richard, you're only a couple of hours from me (Reidsville right?)

The sport bike riders like to come up from your neck of the woods and run
route 8 to the parkway at Tuggles Gap. It's a six mile stretch up the mountain
that's real twisty and I've never seen VA HP ticket anyone on that stretch.
Though just a week ago I say a sport bike on it's side when it caught a patch
of gravel that had been kicked on the road by some outfit making a road
up the side of the mountain for logging or a house. I knew the gravel was there
cause I haul logs down from Floyd off that mountain daily. I was in the Spider and
stopped and asked before my run and they were not hurt.

Right again Ernie, I can't ride the Parkway at 55 so I guess my ticketless days are numbered
if they put out cameras:(

I got my last day in about 3 days after New Years -- in upstate New York no less.  It was very cool because I saw a '76 CB 750 parked in a driveway, and I stopped for a chat.  The guy isn't a member here, but we're going to hook up for rides next year.
