fortunately I'm probably one of few if any more out there that is getting stuck here. nonetheless, basically, if you thought that these pins weren't going to go through due to the arrow heads which indeed lock up, but only to the retaining plate bolted over them, NOT the caliper itself. silly me. That would be impossible. So there's nothing tricky here.
And while we're here, to make more efficient use of your parts cleaner ($20-30 a gallon!), put your parts through stages with multiple cans, using each one til you've decided it's too dirty (gotta figure out a system, a color chart or something. maybe use q-tips. glue one to a piece of card board as reference) then toss it and add a new can to the system. 3 minimum, but the more the better but more can changing.
This way at every stage of use your $25 is is used, not just the first few. I'm figuring you could get another 3-5 soaks more per can before they become like grease paint.
