If you recall, I broke my 12" adjustable wrench trying to get the top triple off.
Guess hitting the wrench with a big friggin sledge hammer is not the recommended method, even if the wrench in Made in Japan!
So the replacement I bought [$12 shipped Amazon Prime] is a Stanley and of course made in China but does have a lifetime warranty. I typically only used that wrench for the top triple and rear axle, but I have a 30mm impact socket for the triple now.
I really like the grip on the Stanley....
Really had a hard time trying to remove the tubes from the lower triple. Turns out the gators rubbery material morphed into a tough plastic over the years, I have never seen this before! I literally had to chip the gator with a hammer claw to get it to break and then the tube slid out.
I then set up this special "jig" to drive the race off the bottom of the triple...
And heres the fork ear Johnnie said is a keeper! Should buff right out?
