Mmmm I’m getting the munchies all of a sudden.

I wanted to draw attention back to Strynboen’s low air compressor method of adjusting carb float heights - using air as a substitute for messy fuel. I think it worked out real well and recommend y’all try to give it a go some day. Thanks again, Strynboen. Det er en god idé

did you use the standart height..or gave you it 1 or 2 mm more height to kompensate for the flots first reakt vhen the fluid lifts them..mine teori is that ve need a bit kompensating to use the exact same float height..ude the dry metode..mine 400 vas a bit low on the bovls..did you come aut exact the same fuel level,,, on both metods...think ve need some more tests to get a idea..if it just are the same..or some height adjustings need to be addet to this metode..+ or - 1 mm for the dry metode

I think I did compensate for the first reaction time of the floats and since you mentioned that the last time, I believe I did add 1mm depth to my caliper. The trick was to dial in an adequate amount of air to the system on my compressor; not too low yet not too high - err on the low side with the air. It also helped while examining one float at a time to hold the other floats down closed - I used rubber bands for this. While you have the other floats closed this is where you can gauge how much air is good for this test. Basically, while the other floats are kept closed, the one that you are measuring would need just enough air to start hissing. It helps to be in a quiet workspace to be able to hear the air hiss out. Too much air makes it a little difficult to measure. I had my carb rack flipped upside down and angled down engine side for these adjustments. Next time I’ll try this with the carbs upright.

I will get around to doing a clear tube meniscus test but for now I am happy that there are no fuel leaks. No leaks on the first try is alright in my book.

I wish I had taken better pictures and notes during this process. I was too eager to get the bike running. It’s all a faint memory now.
