Topic: New cables. Any preference out there amongst ya?

Pretty much as the title states. I'm looking for all new cables, throttle, clutch, brake lines, probably something else too I'm missing. I know that 4 into 1 has the OEM stuff and I'm sure it's great, I'd like to hear what other brands you've used and liked. Thanks

I like the Honda OEM cables, better quality than the cheaper ones.

Are you sure 4into1 sells OEM?

 I just checked their site. Looks like they sell some genuine Honda cables. Upon a quick once of I only saw clutch cables for OEM parts. I'll do some further looking, but so far it's a +1 for Honda, thanks, Steve-o.

+1 on genuine Honda. Mine are over 10 years old and still work nicely. Expensive, but worth it.
Kept clean, and they require little maintenance. And they fit properly when routed correctly.

I've used the TSK brand supplied by Yamiya on my last two 750 builds. They supply the 3 cables for about $43 USD plus shipping (a throttle 'A' & 'B' plus clutch cable). I've been happy with the cables so far.

I'm all for OEM where appropriate, however, I would say that MotionPro are at least as good as OEM. I'm guessing they'd be cheaper too. I've outfitted my CB750 and GL1000 with MotionPro cables and am very happy with them.

+1 sort of...I wouldn't say they are as nice as oem but they do work just fine.  Hell, I have no problems with Parts Unlimited even as my local bike shop nearly always has 'em in stock

Thanks for the Motionpro tip. I see a lot of their products on 4into1. There's some OEM scattered on that site but Motionpro has more to offer.

Thanks for your opinion on the motion pro. I've checked out David Silver Spares and they don't even have OEM for all the cables.

OEM is best but I haven't had an issue with motion pro cables either, just make sure you pre-lube the cables before you put them on. I've dealt with 4 into 1 numerous times and am pleased with their service however I'm not so sure all the cables they have are OEM, double check the part number of the cable you order because I'd be willing to bet it's a motion pro number. Not that there is anything wrong with it if it was but it may be an issue if you're expecting an OEM cable.

The teflon lined OEM is best and does not like lubing. Note that Honda had different cables for different markets (has to do with high or low handle bars) so consult your parts list.
