Just bought the lightest axle ever...(not!)
« on: December 29, 2017, 01:52:27 PM »
Well I bought an axle off ebay. Reputable seller, great feedback. As soon as I picked up the box on my doorstep I knew some thing was wrong. ..the box was empty! Kind of annoyed since anybody packing the box should know is was way too light...contacted them but everyone except the person who answered the phone was gone. Probably wont call me back till next week. Argh...Bob

Bummer when the shipping is almost twice as much as the part, especially when you don't get it !! When I sell on E-bay I always charge the lowest possible actual shipping cost I can as I also hate paying more then necessary.
Priority mail nowadays comes with an automatic $50.00 of insurance so it may be claim time. Seems someone would have noticed that big bolt trying to escape out that hole.

Ha ha, I bought my first F2 tank from a seller in New York. When it arrived it had a foot sized hole in the box, and a steel capped boot size dent in it. I knew it was insured (I paid extra) so I told the seller and sent him some pics, and he said he'd make a claim. I never heard from him again.............. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I bought a radiator for my 40 Chevy, went to ups to get it and there was a fork hole clear through the box dead center.

Ha ha, well it was a good thing mate, right about where the dent was there was a fair amount of bondo, so I ground it out and found two holes where a PO had pulled a previous dent out with the old sheetmetal screw trick, then just bondo'd over the holes! Had it not been dented I would have just rubbed the paint flat and painted it, and probably wondered why fuel was soaking through the paint! ;D

The ass hat that sent it should have done a better job of packing it.
See if they will give you some money back.

Ah the horror stories! Yeah the packing was obviously p*ss poor...   I contacted the seller via business card included in package. Only one person there they were basically closed for the long weekend. That said someone else called me back. Going to see if they can send another one. Bob

I don't know what happens to this stuff. It must be In a mail truck, or a bin at the sorting station.
Of course it would be hard to figure where it belongs when they find it.? But.. a good thing would be if you could contact the shipper with a pic of the part, they circulate it through their hetwork, and then they could still get it sent.

Well the seller does tons of business on ebay. Seemed nice enough and agreed to send another axle out priority mail. Should see it by weeks end...hopefully. Bob

I have never had a problem with him on a couple of things I have bought. Look at how many auctions they can have going on at one time. Its a wonder they can keep it all in order. Right now they have almost 200,000 items listed. Lets see at a little over a dollar apiece your talking a 1/4 million $$'s  ;)

+1.   But what I dont like is I am sure he takes good bikes that could be put back on the road and parts them out.  He'll never sell all the parts.

I've never had any problems with that seller either - he/she/it could be a serial killer for all I know, but they deliver the goods and in good order too.

Good to know. One of the things I noticed was his prices were pretty decent., and he does offer quite a few
items with good feedback.
