I need two maybe three sets. Dynoman has them for about $80 each (in set of four). Seems like OK price but wondering if I could find them cheaper if I search using the Honda number. Any other sources?

Mark, I have never seen a part number for individual sleeves.

Mike Rieck said he had several sets laying around when he said he'd check measurements for another topic.

Any chance to salvage good ones from old blocks that are still in spec minus a good hone job ? Many of us have oodles of those laying around.  Sure brand new is best though.

I thought about that. I'd be concerned that after they're installed that they would still be in spec and not out of round or oversize due to the size and condition of the block bores.

Are these going to be used on Sandcast show bikes that may not get many miles or hardcore street bikes that are going to be ridden long and hard ? From your work we have seen your a perfectionist so I doubt you will use 'pre-heat treated' liners ;) Hondaman claims they can get a little out of round and after a bore up another .25 or so the pre treat are better then new. Not a valid point for you though going with stock piston size. --  Eric

L.A. Sleeve out of California has them also. They aren’t any cheaper but may make you feel better about paying $80. A set of 4 from them is $463 including tax and shipping to Houston.

All three are sandcasts so you're correct that they probably won't get a lot of miles and I am staying with stock bores.  Plus I'm not looking for performance. I have plenty of good stock pistons so it makes sense to use them. One of the cylinders is marginal on a couple of the bores for just getting by with honing. I guess I wouldn't have to replace all the sleeves on that one. If I could get sleeves just a bit cheaper I would probably resleeve all three sets.

Yes I saw them too. They're supposed to be really good but I've never heard anything bad about Dynoman. And for what I need, good is plenty good enough.

So are you dead set againsr running first oversize?
I AM BETTING YOU CAN FIND  useable barrels   or barrels to push the sleeves out of for around 50 bucks or so plus shipping.. if you want to go  1st or second over.

Many bikes run better with used barrels taken out one size than the stock bores.

New pistons will ruin the stock Sandcast engines?
If OK, pistons can be found cheap

I put a 61.0mm set from cruzinimage in my last build with OK K1 cylinder.

Sleeves might be more interesting for restorers if cheaper sleeves could be found.
CycleX sell 836-849-900-SLEEVES     $129.95     (set of 4). Stock size for same price would be fine.

I have a fresh K6 cylinder with too much clearance for 836, 849cc might be too thin. If it could get new sleeves with exact size, perfect

You guys make some good points. I'm thinking about boring oversize too but like you say I would have to buy new pistons. Cheaper than buying sleeves but have to bore either way. Sandcast fans would probably prefer stock size. One of the cylinders has to be re-sleeved because it's already bored to 1mm over and in pretty rough shape.

I assume that price of $129.95 is each when you buy a set of four. Makes Dynoman at $80 look pretty good.
