Topic: Electronic ignition

Thinking about replacing/adjusting the points on my CB500 four K1 with electronic to improve idle/running, genuine points being the price they are now i’m Wondering if it’s a cheaper way to go.

Anyone any opinions on this ? including what system to go for as there does seem quite a few, I’ll be keeping stock coils and running original pipes jets and needles.

It doesn’t get used that much, perhaps 500 miles a year mainly for shows.

you ride 500 miles a year? i'd say don't bother the expense and work, stick with the points.
points need a small amount of periodical maintenance but with your mileage it certainly won't be a big effort.

All idled well on my CB750. Pamco, Dyna-S and Points.  Points best of them, but the carbs got better setting.
