We are all experts!
« on: January 05, 2018, 12:57:08 PM »
Something I used to struggle with was being "good enough".  I thought you needed to know everything to claim expert status.  Now I see more and more people watch a couple Youtube videos and claim to be experts in whatever it is.

Since we can all Google up the answers does this mean we are all experts?

I used youtube to put a roof on my house, maybe I am a builder? IDK lol

Yep, youtube is an excellent source for "How To's" Eric, it's saved me a lot of time, while occasionally making me laugh hysterically at the insights of some of those guys who make these videos. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Clearly, you're not one who watches much television.  There are many Holiday Inn Express commercials that use that "line".

Guitar Center Experts have to pass a 1500 question testing battery.  To make sure the young employee with the out of control hair and tattoos has a clue.

None of the questions were about testing batteries however.

I used YouTube to learn G-Code. After I got tired of plugging in thousands of lines of programs at the control, I used it to learn Cad/Cam. Now, I'm using it to learn how to build a house myself. Be doing the footing for it in a week or so.

YouTube is spectacular if you can spot the idiots you want to pay no mind to.
