Help identifying my tank and petcock
« on: March 01, 2020, 04:42:07 pm »
Could anyone identify what my tank and petcock is off of? I think it's maybe from a 400 but I do not know for certain.
I need to order a new cap seal and rebuild the petcock or get another.
It's been modified obviously as you can see by the relocated petcock and mount.
Photos below, thank you for any help.

Looks like you guys were spot on with the 360 tank. I know its been modified and its currently on my 650.
For the hell of it I checked what the petcock looks like on 80 650 and it looks like its an OEM non vacuum petcock from one. I probably should have guessed that was the case, but I had no idea.

Thanks for the helppppp

Your gun in the way makes it hard to id. I suspect 450 or 350/360 .
They have crossover tubes . On this one there appears to be one welded over ,and the second one, well gun is in the way.
Without crossover , you any be leaning it over a few times when into reserve.
The 450 CB tanks , are like ssmaller version of tge 750 tank, and look good on them, shows more motor.

They werea formed tube. If you do 're install you may want to relocate. Pain in the butt when you remove the tank.

I checked the underside tonight. Nothing welded closed on the other side. It looks like the petcock was just moved from it's original position.
It also seems it's not a 79-80 650 petcock. Very similar but my threads are 16mm instead of 14. I'm guessing the 81-82 nonvacuum might be the ticket but I'll have to find out for sure
