Paint Engine before or after assembly
« on: January 11, 2018, 12:51:11 PM »
I've been debating on this question. I have completely disassembled the engine but trying to decide whether its best to paint the cases before or after I reassemble it. On one hand it will be much easier due to the weight of the engine if I do it before assembly but on the other hand what if it gets scratched up during assembly. what say you..

with cars i have done i usually paint engines before assembly, to me it looks more detailed

the gasket edges and bolts stand out as better defined if that makes sense

on my 75 750k i vapor blasted and left it bare

Before. Touch it up if you scratch it.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
