Shipping parts to Australia
« on: January 11, 2018, 10:59:12 pm »
Okay, so this isn't exactly a high performance question but I am trying to ship some hi po parts to a guy in Australia. Can anyone recommend the best way to ship "down under" without breaking the bank?  USPS says $101- ouch. Any other sources?

USPS would be my recommendation.  I shipped a trident crank to Australia.  Wasn't ship but was compared to ups and fedex

I shipped to Auz from Canada and post was the best price.
They know "down under" that it's expensive to get parts shipped to them.

I have got heavy parts shipped to me in Europe from USA. USPS has lowest price. Fedex, DHL, UPS charge more than double.
But some US sellers use the higher priced USPS services for tripple price.

USPS means local postal service that take over at the border. Some countries local service might not be safe.

I bought an expensive home cinema processor shipped in a box marked KRELL on all sides from Florida. Happy it was shipped by Fedex all the way which means transport to my door by Fedex and avoid the local Swedish/ Danish Postal service that might not be the safe solution for obvious expensive contents.

My engine parts from Mike in boxes not looking expensive, only heavy :)

Mike, I was sure the earth is round ;)

Terry must know!

Yeah, shipping to Australia will cost ya.  But think how far that package is going!  Now, try and ship that same package from Michigan to Canada.  It costs almost as much to go 150 miles!
If it works good, it looks good...
