« on: January 17, 2018, 06:31:50 PM »
Who makes this? Guy has one for sale asking $300
Doesnt seem to know a whole lot about vintage bikes but
Says he thought the documentation he got with it said it fit a
Vf750 but thats nuts no way. I think he meant cb750.

That looks like a custom tank to me. The perfectly flat bottom, the bends in the center frame tunnel, the welds. It all screams custom made.

Guy said the decals were cleared over. Wonder how hard itd be to strip that and buff it out. Steel wouldnt bother me but aluminums softer and with it being clear kinda hard to see when you cut through with sander. What would be the best method to strip it if decided to do so to polish it?

Looks like the Legendary one is almost $500 in fiberglass abd the cap is an extra $150.... Also it has no clipon scallops.
Guessing this is an english tank or maybe a India tank. Either way yeah its metal you guys are right get it fast.
And dthe best part Ive been kicking around weither I should buy it or not for like 2 weeks lol!
Last spoke with guy today so hopefukly deal goes down. I have a new 550 and a 750 that have open ended futures so this would give one of em some direction.

Is the pics actual tank...
The Indian stuff looks like that in the pics, when you get it the bottom is made of multiple pieces, lots of welds, not all pretty ones..

Good, that is why I said buy it, it looked well made, as in its pretty pricey if you had to buy new.

Recieved tank today and low and behold it is not a 750 tank as I had hoped.... It is a really beautiful tank though and impeccable. Fits single backbone hondas well and it looks great on the 550 I just picked up so Im gonna run it on that.
Here it is mocked up on the 750 and then again at home on the 550-  the old 550 body work is for sale and it is not to shabby at all! Tanks like perfect inside...

Wow that is a good looking tank - so does it fit the CB750? How does it secure to the bike? And what is the capacity of the tank as looks large. Id be interested in buying it should you ever want to re-sell.

thanks
Andy
