I wish I had given you that arm last year like we discussed but I kept forgetting it. I put it on back of the truck the first part of last week so I wouldn't leave it behind on this trip. Our next thing to come up with are air shifter components.

Lookin Good Wilbur. That arm should help slow the wheelies down some. Be sure to keep your shocks. If you can slide the front fork tubes up any, that will be helpful as well.

Definitely keeping shocks in the rear. The front forks have 1-1/2" preload on them and will likely have another 1/2" to 1" (for 2" to 2-1/2") preload before the next event. The preload spacer also shortens the fork rebound by the same amount making their extended length that much shorter as well. I've never been a big fan of the "strapped down" method of preloading.

That implies that I would have had time to implement it.    It would likely have just collected dust in my garage instead of yours! 

More attention to measured improvements is scheduled for this season.

Sometimes its worth dropping the tubes at the track, then moving back up. I like to run heavy fork oil to take the wheelie inducing bounce out of the forks...... which is why a lot of guys strap them down.
 And 17/54 gearing was always fun..

Wilbur, do everything you can to NOT CUT THE SPRINGS once you put the spacers in the tubes. I know it'll be tough to get the cap on but you want the front end to be as stiff as possible which will also help limit travel. Nothing worse than a front end that extends on launch.

No cutting of the springs here, I want the preload that goes with the shorter stroke. I already have 1-1/2" spacers in place since the beginning of last season. The spacers go on the piston to shorten the piston travel (and LOA) with spring preload being a happy side effect. I have been trying decide how to label the fork caps noting the preloaded spring so I (or anyone else) don't put an eye out upon disassembly!

Imagine the difference between you and I trying to push that cap down to tighten it after putting 4" of spacers on the damper rod. Lol. Eye protection and a breast plate is a must. Oh yeah, and no one else in the room or they might become the victim of a flying projectile.
